July Favorites

NYX Contour, Essie Beach Side Babe, Bumble and Bumble, Fresh Mattifying Primer
Now that summer is in full swing, I’ve been reaching for products to help me look put together while beating the heat.  This month I’ve been all about minimal makeup and effortless hairstyles.

NYX Contour Palette
I’m always on the hunt for a good contour and this one caught my eye.  It not only has a great contour shade but it also has a yellow, 2 highlight, 2 bronze powders.  This is a serious bang for your buck and the formula is super blendable!

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish
This is my messy bun savior!  I’ve always struggled to tame my layers from flying out in a less than stylishly messy fashion when attempting a bun.  To tame my hair and give a light hold, I put this through the ends before styling my bun.  It is seriously awesome!

Batiste Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair
This is another game changer hair product!  Avoiding the dreaded white caste that dry shampoo leaves behind can be hard for someone with dark hair.  Batiste solved this problem by creating a dry shampoo with brown powder.  It not only blends into my hair but it also works just as well at keeping the oil at bay compared to their original formula.

Essie Peach Side Babe
I bought this on a whim when I saw it in the display for Essie’s Summer collection at my local Target.  It ended up being the only nail polish I wore for the entire month.

Fresh Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum
Although this is only a sample and I only got to use it a few times, it made an impression that I thought was worthy of a spot on my favorites.  It is a bit creamer than the average serum but it does an excellent job at holding up my makeup throughout the day.  I would by the full sized version but I need to finish up some of my other primers first.

Origins GinZing Moisturizer
Thank you Sephora 500 point perk for introducing this product into my life!  It smells divine and it gives just the right amount of moisture without feeling too heavy on the skin.  This citrus scented product was the highlight of my mornings in July.

  1. I've heard so many good things about the Origins moisturizer! I have quite oily skin so I think it might be better suited to me in the Winter time when my skin is a bit more dehydrated!

    Lovely post Amy!
