The 5 Product Face

NARS, Loreal, Fresh, MAC, Skinfinish, Natural, NW20 Groeland, Voluminous, Superstar

Usually this time of year I like to wear thicker foundation and smokier eye looks but lately I’ve been really into the minimal makeup.  While it’s partly out of the necessity for a quick morning face, I’ve come to appreciate the effortless look that comes with minimal makeup.

When I want a natural looking base that still covers up imperfections, I’ve been reaching for Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Groeland.  I’ve had it for months and I keep coming back to it when I want an effortless look that requires more than a little effort.  It has SPF 30, so its a great base whether its sunny or gloomy outside.

Next up, I attempt to tame my dark circles with MAC Mineralize Concealer in NW20.  I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before in a post but this stuff is pretty nifty.  Since it dries to a powder finish, I don’t have to worry about creasing.

To set everything, I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium.  I’ve gone through so many of these over the years and it is by far the most natural powder I’ve ever found.  I tend to reserve this for lighter foundations since I find its a bit too finely milled to set really dewy foundations.  Since the Nars foundation is pretty light finish, it works great with the Mineralize Skinfinish.

Normally, I prefer a natural looking lash but recently I’ve been loving a little extra volume with my fresh face.  To achieve full lashes I’ve been reaching for Loreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara.  It has a primer on one end and the mascara on the other.  I find that just using the mascara everyday is enough to give my lashes length that doesn’t look too exagerated.

To finish off the look and add a bit of color, I use Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Berry.  This is another long time favorite that I reach for time and again.  The color brightens up my face while still looking natural.  Also, I love the scent of Fresh lip balms.  During the coldest months of winter, this lip balm is a colorful way for my lips to stay hydrated.

What would be in your 5 product face?

  1. Really great choice! I need to try that mascara by Loreal. My 5 would go like this: Myabelline Fit Me foundation, Rimmel Match Perfection concealer, Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in shade coral calling and Bourjois bronzer for contour :)

  2. I've never used any of this products because I'm no expert when it comes to makeup, but I've always been curious to try them out. Like you said, smokey eyes are great, but there's something about minimalist makeup that makes everything so much easier and lighter.

    1. You should definitely try out the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. It doesn't look powdery at all and it's perfect for a natural makeup look.

  3. I've actually never used any of these products, but they all sound totally amazing! <3 You really can't go wrong with MAC products, and I've heard great things about that L'Oreal mascara! I think I'd struggle to do my whole face just with five products, although foundation, mascara and concealer are always a must. :) <3

  4. I've also been into the minimal makeup lately too- I think it's something to do with the New Year and wanting to look fresh faced? Just a theory!
