New In: Clinique and MAC

Clinique, Mac, haul, review, lipstick, primer, foundation, blush, Well Dressed, prep, prime

On my YouTube channel I usually do hauls where I show products that I recently bought.  Usually, I show them before I get a chance to really use them.  For my blog, I thought I would do something a little different and show you products that I recently got but I've had a chance to use.  Think of it as a haul/mini review.

Clinique Even Better Makeup in Ivory- I tried a sample last year and loved it. Since I already had another foundation to use up, I didn't bother replacing it in my collection.  I've recently been missing the finish it gave my skin and I decided to bite the bullet and head over to my local Clinique counter to get color matched.  It has a beautiful semi-matte, medium coverage finish that looks so natural on the skin.

MAC Prep and Prime Face Primer- While I was at the mall getting my hands on the Clinique foundation, I thought I would pop over to the MAC counter and test out some products I had been wanting for a while.  The second I put this product on the back of my hand, I knew it had to be mine.  It's a smooth cream, gel-like texture with supper fine shimmer particles.  I didn't notice the shimmer until I looked down at my tester hand out in the sun, but after applying it under foundation I can tell you it looks stunning.  The shimmer adds a wonderful glow to the skin and it doesn't emphasis any pores or fine lines.

MAC Creame Cup Lipstick- So many beauty bloggers and YouTubers rave about this lipstick that I had to check it out for myself to see what all the hype is about.  Sure enough I fell in love but not at first swatch.  When I first applied it to my lips it really emphasized my chapped lips and I thought this would be a dud for me.  However, a MAC makeup artist told me that creamsheens do a wonderful job at moisturizing the lips and I decided to give it a chance.  After wearing it around for a few hours, I noticed that my lips were not only moisturized but had a wonderful pale pink color that I fell in love with.  Now I know what all the hype is about!

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick-  This is another raved about lipstick that I had to try.  It looks absolutely gorgeous on its own as well as paired with Creme Cup.  I have a feeling this will be one of my go to bold lip colors.

MAC Well Dressed Blush-  Since I feel for the hype of the two lipsticks I mentioned above, I thought I would see if I would like Well Dressed as well.  When I swatched it on  my hand it looked gorgeous.  However, after applying it a few times with my Sonia Kashuk Angled Blush Brush, I find that it barely gives off any color.  The MAC makeup artist said it would give a light pink flush to the cheeks but I can hardly detect any flush at all on my NW20 skin.  Maybe I need a different brush to get more color payoff.  So far this is turning out to  be my first MAC dud.  Anyone have a recommendation for how to make this blush show up on my skin?

What new products have you tried recently?
