10 Facts About Me

I've wanted to venture into more personal/lifestyle type posts but I could never decide how I wanted to start.  Since I have haven't really mentioned too much about myself, I thought a 10 facts post would be a good way share with you a little bit about me.

I’m left handed
South paw represent! Growing up I didn’t like being a lefty.  The art teacher always made me use the junky lefty scissors while all my friends used the nice regular scissors.  I always bumped elbows with the person sitting to my left.  The list goes on.  Now that I’m older I have embraced it and find it is a good conversation starter.

 I’m obsessed with symbolism
While I’m not currently as avid of a reader as I would like to be, I have always had a love for literature.  In school reports I rocked this part of literature analysis.  Also, I love finding symbols in everyday life.  Maybe that’s weird. Meh..

I was born on Easter
When I was a kid I thought it was the coolest thing ever to be born on a holiday.  I would make a point to tell everyone about it.   I guess not much has changed...

My first job was at Victoria’s Secret
I tried so hard to get a job in high school but between my parents resistance and lack of job experience, it just didn’t happen.  It wasn’t until college that I managed to get my first job at a Victoria’s Secret in my local mall.  In theory it seemed like the coolest job ever and I remember squealing with my friend after realizing I got the job.   The reality however was a different story.

My favorite color is green
Shameful fact: I own way too many green colored clothing items.  It’s gotten so noticeable that even my boyfriends brother jokes about it.

I love tea
Another shameful fact: I have a huge tea collection.  Some of my favorites are Earl Grey, English Breakfast, and of course Green tea.

I love the smell of Bergamot.
If no one is watching I sniff my earl grey packets just so I can get a whiff of that wonderful aroma.

When I was little I wanted to be a singer.
Like probably every other kid in the 90’s I was obsessed with Disney soundtracks and had a pretty nice collection on cassette that I would sing along too.  The sole “adult” cassette I had in my collection Patsy Cline’s Crazy.  Oh the hours on end I would sing along to that cassette (ie: torture my parents ears).  Unfortunately my talent has never matched my desire to sing so I spare the ears of those around me.

I’m a night owl
I honestly don’t see how people can really be morning people.  While the promise of the start of a brand new day is inspiring, it’s not enough to get me out of bed until I’ve hit snooze at least five times.  Hopefully one day I will join the happy morning people club but for now I spend my weekends watching Youtube videos until 2am.

I didn’t start wearing makeup regularly until college.
I grew up with pretty strict parents (ie: a dad who was mortified that I was growing up seemingly overnight) who wouldn’t let me wear any makeup until I was probably about a senior in high school.  When I got into college I tried to get into makeup but I felt so overwhelmed by the selection and how to use all these products.  It wasn’t until my job at Victoria’s Secret that I finally figured out how to correctly apply makeup and what colors suiting my skin tone.  From then on my obsession with beauty began and it’s still going strong today.

What's an interesting fact about you?

    1. Wow, I would have loved to have heard that one when I was a kid! I was always told that it meant you were more creative because of the fact that lefties use the right side of their brains more or something like that. Thanks Anjelique!
