Spring Makeup Routine

makeup, beauty, MAC, Maybelline, NARS, spring, makeup routine, blush, lipstick, primer, foundation, FOTD

Now that the weather has warmed up and the sun is coming out more, I’ve been in the mood to bring more color (read pink) into my everyday makeup routine.  I realized while writing this post that I forgot to include eyeshadows into the picture.  Let’s pretend that the eyeshadow is there so this picture doesn’t have to go to waste.

Maybelline Master Primer in Blur+Redness
I wrote a review of this primer a few months back and you can find it here.  Overall, I think this is a good primer, it just doesn’t do much for me in terms of eliminating redness.  I picked up the Blur+Smooth from Ulta and I’m interested to see if it is just as good as the redness primer.

Nars Sheer Glow in Deauville

I’m trying to use the last bit of this foundation while I still have my pale winter skin.  The formulation is a bit heavier and dewier than I like for the warmer months but it works well to achieve that fresh faced dewy spring skin.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla

I’m almost out of this as well and I’m considering buying another in Custard when I run out.  It is creamy without being too heavy on the skin.  It looks great as an under eye concealer and I sometimes use it to cover blemishes.

Nars Pressed Powder in Deauville
I hit pan on this one towards the end of last year and it is still going strong.  It’s a really great powder to set my foundation and it holds up well throughout the day.  I like to apply a light layer through my t-zone, avoiding my cheekbones, to let the Sheer Glow give a natural highlight to my cheeks.  Unfortunately, this has been discontinued so I will have to find another powder once this one is finished.

Nars Contour Blush in Paloma
This is a nice contour duo for those days when you want a quick natural looking contour.  Most days, I apply a light layer of contour to the hollows of my cheeks, around my temple and my jawline.  I’m still trying to figure out a good brush and method to contouring my nose, so I skip that step.  The highlight color is a matte shade that is about a few shades lighter than my skintone.  I mostly use it to set my under eye and to highlight my brow bone.

MAC Blush in Well Dressed
This is a no brainer blush when I’m in a hurry and want a subtle flush on my cheeks.  I’ve been into pink recently, so this has been my go to blush.

MAC Lipstick in Syrup

This is another MAC staple.  It is by far my most used MAC lipstick.  I wear it year round  and it pairs well with Well Dressed.

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara
I don’t have anything amazing to say about this mascara.  It does a decent job and giving volume but it isn’t amazing at lengthening my lashes.

MAC Woodwinked and All That Glitters
Normally I reserve bronzy eye shades for the summer but I have been really into them lately.   I love both of these eyeshadow shades on their own and paired with each other.

What makeup products have you been loving this spring?
