January Favorites

January has been a bit of a wash in terms of productivity.  New Year’s resolutions to blog more and be more productive in general failed even before I attempted to complete them.  Sad to say, that laziness has transferred over into my favorites for January.  This month I have focused on products that offer comfort and ease above all else.

Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer
This months makeup routine has been minimal.  Not necessarily a no makeup makeup look but definitely a crap I overslept again and now I have 5 min to slap makeup on my face look. I’ve found that a good base is essential in achieving either look.  The Magic Lumi Primer has been an important first step in that process.  I have reviewed this product in the past and recently rediscovered it after I realized my skin was looking a bit blah this winter.  I put it on with my fingers before foundation and it really helps give a healthy glow to my skin without looking shimmery.  It isn’t a super strong makeup primer, but in the winter foundation holds up fairly well throughout the day.

True Match Lumi Makeup in N1-2
This is another rediscovery in my collection.  After running low on my Nars Sheer Glow foundation, I decided to pull this one back out.  With the Lumi Primer, it gives such a wonderful glow to the skin and holds up well throughout the day.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Neutralizer
My under eye bags always seem to be horrible in the winter when my skin is its palest.  My pale pink brightening concealers weren’t cutting it so I decided to try this one out.  It is marketed for really dark under eye circles and I’ve found it does the job really well.  The applicator makes it really easy to put on and it blends quickly.

Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Waterproof
This mascara provides great volume and length.  It stays put all day.  I just put a few coats on in the morning and I’m set.  I don’t have much else to say about it.  It’s a pretty awesome mascara.

Nars Contour Palette in Paloma
I debated whether or not to get this for months and I am so glad I finally caved.  It is a really great contour and highlight.  The contour is a cooler tone and I find it gives a better look than my bronzer, especially now that I’m paler.  The highlight is great for setting under eye concealer and as a base for eyeshadow.

Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
This is a awesome brow pencil for a natural brow look.  The thin pencil allows me to get in the sparse areas of my brows.  On the other end is a spooly that comes in really handy when I need to do my makeup quickly.

Sugar Lip Treatment in Berry
I always come back to this lip color in the beginning of the year.  It provides a wonderful sheer color that is fairly buildable and it is super moisturizing.

Those are my January Favorites.  Hopefully February is more productive.  Seeing as I got myself together enough to write this post, I am optimistic.

What were you loving in January?

  1. I've been meaning to try that Maybelline concealer, I always hear so many people raving about it! And the Anastasia Brow Wiz and L'oreal foundation are both staples for me! :)
